• I got a brand new Nintendo Switch! I now own a couple games most notably Just Dance 2021, TLoZ: Breath of the Wild and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag and Rouge (a bundle). Some of the games were on sale which is great. The next ones I’m looking for is probably one of the Pokemon Let’s Go games.

  • Breath of the Wild has been really fun. It’s my first Zelda game. I’m now at the point where the world is mostly open (after The Great Plateau main storyline). I find myself trying to rush though the game’s main storyline. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to do that but I don’t think it’s in the spirit of open world exploration. I totally hate that the difficulty is constant, I wish I could just make the fights easier so I can enjoy the exploration instead of having anxiety whenever there’s a Guardian robot I need to kill or when I need to run to a quest point and there are 10s of wild monsters trying to kill me. The fact that weapons break also bugs me – there is no certainty and sense of security! When am I gonna find a similar weapon? How am I gonna fight a monster without this weapon?

I find the game amusing because Link literally never speaks and the NPC makes weird noises (like gasps) in conversations but never speak (aside from cutscenes). Maybe it’s a Legend of Zelda thing that I don’t get.

  • I have a caffeine dependence which means when I don’t drink coffee in the morning, I get a crazy migraine in the afternoon. I didn’t drink coffee yesterday and today and felt awful from the caffeine withdrawal. It’s a huge problem to me but I guess I can remedy it with more coffee and slowly wean off it. I don’t feel the need to do that but those caffeine headaches really suck.

  • I had a chat with Sesame’s breeder as she’s ready to send the paperwork in to the AKC to register Sesame. Unfortunately his testicles haven’t descended yet (oof) so he can’t be registered as a show dog, so he’ll be registered as a pet dog. The only difference is that he can’t participate in conformation shows, which is fine by me as I’m more interested in agility and tricks. Now that businesses are opening up, we’re hoping to take him to some herding classes! So many things I’d like to do with him if only he can respond to his name reliably. 🙃

  • I stayed up late playing Zelda. I can now play in bed, which does not help. Sadly, being an adult with responsibilities means I can’t afford to do this often. I’m waiting for my vacation week to just potato up and play games. I CAN’T WAIT.

  • The snow in the backyard is melting away, revealing grass underneath. Who knows what is underneath the grass. It bugs me that I don’t know. Did Sesame previously pee/poo in that patch of grass or not? I can’t know because the ground is always wet. At least it’s warmer now!

  • Out of all the things that happened this week one of the worst is when I forgot to take my partner’s brother’s Animal Crossing game home with me from Toronto. I was hoping to be able to try it out before paying $100 on it.
